Plan an online store for your Qatar business.
An online store needs decisions about stock, payments and delivery before its first product page is designed. I work with WooCommerce and custom PHP requirements, starting with what your team sells and how you will manage each order.
Talk about your online store on WhatsApp (opens in a new tab)Start with a few real products.
Send a sample of your catalogue: product names, photos, prices, stock references and any size or colour variants. Identify who will keep those details accurate after launch. A small, well-prepared sample can reveal more about the required setup than a long list of platform features.
We can assess WooCommerce for a manageable catalogue and order workflow, or investigate custom PHP functionality where the business rules require it. Platform choice depends on the actual requirements, available integrations and ongoing care. The general e-commerce service explains the core store scope.
Map the order beyond checkout.
Who confirms stock, packs an order and answers a delivery question? Decide whether the store receives orders for staff review or needs an agreed automated workflow. Define order states, cancellations and the information a customer should receive.
Delivery zones, charges, collection options and handling times should reflect your actual operation. A courier API is a separate integration to review; a documented manual fulfilment process may be more appropriate for an initial release.

Confirm the provider before promising the integration.
A payment logo on a design does not establish that the merchant or integration is ready.
Your merchant arrangement
Confirm the business account, accepted payment methods, currencies and onboarding requirements directly with your chosen bank or payment provider. Provider approval and service fees are outside a website developer’s control.
The technical route
Review the current integration documentation, supported platform or extension, licence conditions and test access. Compatibility needs checking against the version and setup the store will actually use.
Payment and order checks
Test successful, unsuccessful and cancelled payments, the return journey and the resulting order status. Where the integration uses server notifications, review how repeat or delayed notifications are handled before release.
QNB’s QPAY product information is one example of a local provider to investigate, not an endorsement or a claim that I have already integrated it. We assess the provider you actually intend to use.
Plan language and operations together.
If your store needs Arabic and English, plan the product fields, categories, search, checkout labels and customer messages in both languages. Right-to-left presentation needs review on a phone, including mixed-direction product names and numbers. Accurate translated content and an Arabic reviewer must be agreed; they are not silently included in a standard store build.
Keep your delivery, return and contact information ready for review by the people responsible for the business. I can implement approved content and agreed workflows. Business policies, tax treatment and provider eligibility need confirmation from your responsible advisers or providers.
Stock, accounting or customer-management integrations require a usable source system, documentation and clear responsibilities. Agree whether the store or another system owns each piece of data before considering automatic synchronization.
What belongs in the proposal?
The deliverables should be specific enough for you to review and accept.
- Catalogue and presentation: product types, categories, supplied images, page layouts and content entry responsibilities.
- Checkout and fulfilment: the agreed payment route, delivery/collection rules, customer messages and order management.
- Testing and handover: mobile journeys, agreed test orders, staff review, access ownership and the materials included in the handover.
- Running costs and care: hosting, domain renewals, extensions, provider fees and a separately agreed update/backup arrangement.
The quote depends on catalogue complexity, languages, migration and integrations. We can reduce the first release to the essential buying journey when that is practical. A live integration or launch date should not be promised while a required third-party approval is still unresolved.
What the existing portfolio can demonstrate.
My background includes WooCommerce and custom website work. There is not a published Qatar online-store case study in this portfolio. We should assess your store’s requirements and payment-provider documentation rather than treat a general capability statement as proof of a particular gateway integration.
The Spanner Garage project demonstrates an actual Qatar business-website and email scope, not an e-commerce checkout. The Qatar website overview covers that collaboration context. If the initial need is service enquiries rather than online payments, that may be the more suitable starting point.
For a store that is already live, share the URL and the problem before deciding on a rebuild. Some issues belong within maintenance; migration needs an inventory of products, useful URLs and the data to preserve.
Resolve dependencies before the build.
Can you promise compatibility with my Qatar payment gateway?
Compatibility must be checked using the current provider documentation, your merchant arrangement and the store platform. I do not claim previous integration with every local gateway. We agree feasibility and the test plan before including it in the scope.
Does an Arabic store just need translated product descriptions?
No. Categories, navigation, checkout, messages and right-to-left layouts also need attention. We agree which content is translated, who supplies it and who checks the completed customer journey.
Can stock update automatically from my existing system?
That depends on the system, its API or export options and the quality of the data. We define which system owns stock and how changes should be handled before quoting an integration. Manual updates may suit a smaller first release.
Are payment fees and ongoing maintenance included in the build price?
Provider charges, subscriptions, licences and ongoing care are identified in the proposal and agreed separately where applicable. The development quote should state which setup, testing and handover tasks it includes.
