Image Resizer
Set the pixel dimensions your website actually needs. Keep the aspect ratio to avoid stretching, or unlock it when you intentionally need a different shape.
How to use it.
- Choose one PNG, JPEG or static WebP and review its original dimensions.
- Enter a width or height. With the ratio lock on, the other dimension follows the source proportions, rounded to a whole pixel.
- Choose PNG, JPEG or WebP output, resize, inspect the dimensions and download.
A practical example.
A 2400 × 1600 photograph needed at 1200 pixels wide becomes 1200 × 800 with the ratio lock. Unlocking and entering 1200 × 1200 stretches it into a square; this tool does not crop. For a sharp diagram, PNG output may be more suitable than lossy JPEG.

Canvas resampling changes the number of pixels. Keeping the ratio preserves proportions within whole-pixel rounding; it does not preserve every original pixel. Enlarging interpolates existing detail and may look soft. It is not AI upscaling. JPEG fills transparent areas with white; PNG and WebP can retain alpha.
Know the limits.
One static PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 15 MiB. Both input and output are limited to 16 million pixels and 8192 pixels per side. No cropping, print-DPI editing or batch processing. File size depends on format and quality, not dimensions alone. Metadata and color profiles may change or be removed.
File processing runs locally in this browser tab. Normal website resources still load from the site. Reset clears the selected image and result. Browser extensions and your device’s security are outside this tool’s control.
Website privacy policy →Common questions.
How do I resize without distortion?
Keep Lock aspect ratio checked and change either width or height. The other value is calculated from the original proportions. Very small dimensions can involve visible whole-pixel rounding.
Can I enter an exact width and height?
Yes. Unlock the ratio to set both independently. If their ratio differs from the source, the image will stretch. For a different shape without stretching, use a separate crop editor.
Will enlarging restore missing detail?
No. This tool interpolates existing pixels. Use a higher-resolution original when possible.
Which output format should I choose?
PNG is useful for crisp graphics and transparency. JPEG suits photographs without transparency. WebP offers quality-based encoding and alpha support if your browser can export it.
